I am not in Spain, I would like to know where to get one done for my return journey home. I understand one is required for entry to Spain and at present I am also aware that no travel is allowed to Spain from the UK unless it can be proven necessary or you are a resident.

Mary

Mary as far as I'm aware you can travel to Spain if you have the PCR test negative from 23 November whatever reason for your travel ,but if I'm wrong I apologise

You don't need a test to fly into the UK, not sure on Ireland though, but I haven't heard anything regarding this requirement?

According to www.gov.uk, arrivals into Ireland need to complete a Public Health Passenger Locator form, and to restrict their movements for 14 days - much the same as arriving into England. There is nothing stating a need to take a Covid test on or before arrival...

...

Many thanks, that’s what I thought. R

during our current lockdown here in UK till 2nd Dec its does state we cannot leave country to second homes except for exceptional circumstances.

We are hoping to fly 26/12 to Spain if this barrier is lifted.

I was seeking info on where to obtain PCR for return to UK as I am hoping quarantine is lifted or reduced and replaced by a PCR test to be completed before entry back into UK.

I am not breaking any rules so please no sarcastic comments , it is purely all ifs and buts at present. If quarantine not lifted we will not be making journey.

John its not you believe me.

Ive seen so many posts by people that just ask 1 question and its turns into 9 pages of a free for all, and in some cases quite nasty.

I just wanted to put it out there we were trying to premp all senarios.

Mary

My husband and I changed out plans and now plan to fly into DUBLIN .  Do we need a Covid 19 test in order to come into the Rep.of Ireland enroute to the North of Ireland?  This has only just occurred to me and I would appreciate a correct answer!

Hi Rosemary,

Perhaps the following would be helpful.   So many changes and regulations  🤔

Safe journey and best wishes😁

Mary

Mary, that was very kind of you. I read it and am most impressed by the handling of returning visitors in the Rep of Ireland.  I have a choice, either quarantine for 14 days or pay to have test done and if negative, I’d be free to live my life. Brilliant. Why on earth can’t we do this in NI?  14 days stuck indoors with no exercise apart from using the stairs!   Dreadful. We’d happily pay for a test to have our freedom

Dublin airport is introducing 2 covid 19 centres at the airport for people wishing to travel to countries demanding a negative result.  Brilliant. Most impressive. I shall consider flying through Dublin if Belfast does not follow suit.  We need to facilitate travellers.

Gosh, you can now come over after Christmas! There’s a test which costs €99.  That’s your Christmas present sorted now!  It’s lovely here at the moment, come on over.  Happy Christmas Mary.

Oh, maybe you don’t live in Ireland or maybe you do!   All the best anyway.

Delighted that news was positive.
It is two private firms that are providing the service and you do not have to be travelling to avail of the tests.

However just to be clear.   After arrival in Ireland it’s 14 days usual quarantine.

Or after  5 days  take the test,  and if negative free....

They offer a few different type of tests.   Not all give fast results.  Not all are accepted for travel.

Often wonder how is November in Costa Blanca?   Imagine we will have Artic cold for the weekend.

Looking forward to travel in Spring 😎😎😎

Meath María , Hola.
It’s really most pleasant here although today was somewhat overcast this morning but soon brightened to glorious sunshine.  My biggest problem is thinking that I should be lying on my lounger up on the solarium but why would I bother? Going home in 10 days time to cover my suntan with layers of warm clothes!

With Christmas looming, the New Year follows quickly and then you can count down to when you plan to return.  It’s well worth the wait.

Believe it or not, I spent the first 2 years of my life living in Navan, Co.Meath.   If I had stayed, I could have been Meath Rosemary but I would never have been so creative as to think of calling myself that.

  I shall simply remain,

Grannyrose
