Hi, yes I am aware that tourism is down significantly on 2019 levels but then it's not the tourists that are the main source of the rubbish around the bins. When I was over in June there were plenty of people about, mostly longer term renters or second home owners, of all nationalities.
The areas where communal bins are located near us in Los Dolses are a mix of okay and bad. The bin area at the junction of Calle Almendra/Calle Papaya was, probably still is, a disgrace, mattresses, broken bed frames, large fridge, a sofa, plus numerous bags of other junk. Added to that is the seemingly obligatory piles of garden waste, which just seem to get dumped alongside the waste bins. I'm not sure why the council have not put a CCTV camera there as it's a constant problem. I don't think that is the sort of waste that tourists would dump.
The bins for landfill waste, bottles, cardboard/paper recycling do seem to get emptied regularly but the other rubbish gets left longer.
What is the council's responsibility that they should address is all the weeds and wild undergrowth that sprouts up along the roads and the canals in the area. looks awful and is causing damage to the roads and pavements. Generally the roads/pavements within communities are looked after, probably by the property owners themselves
Aitch.
