Using a courier will be the most expensive option as they are obliged now to produce mounds of paperwork for customs and they will charge you for that. If you have already your residency or NLV ready to continue process for residency and you have your padron then you will be excused paying the Iva on importing the goods as you are changing your primary residence. However there's a time limit to doing it, you have 1year. If you are moving items to a holiday home that is a differrent kettle of fish and generally Hauliers take into account you will be charge Iva and import duties. If you hire a van and go DIY process, you can't go cheaper as you can get I way hire vans, unsure if still operating but  Waytogo was a company who did this since Brexit. We bought a van in 2018 and did 3 trips upto 2020, not knowing Brexit would impact us so much. Freedom of movement didn't just apply to people but everything that now crosses a EU border. We haven't done any trips since 2020 with van but did a car loaded up trip last year without problems and unsure if we will test out a van trip this year yet. If you do it yourself there are many posts on here you can research which give advice on what you need to do and it's very much a hit and miss affair regarding being hit with import costs or not. Good luck

Regards

Pauline
