Hello

Has anyone recommendations for completing the NL visa in Spain ? Reasonable rates and good service etc.

I understand you have to complete the first part yourself in the uk.

Many thanks

Yes indeed, you have to make the initial application yourself at one of the Spanish consulates in the UK.

Once you gain the NLV  then:

Is often recommended.

Hi Rob,

As Steve has explained, the NLV has to be applied for in the UK by the applicant, not a third party.  You can engage a professional in Spain to help, but effectively you'll be paying them to fill out forms which you can do yourself.  This company has been recommended by other members and their website offers a helpful explanation of the process:

https://upsticks.es/non-lucrative-visa-spain/

The second part of the procedure, which needs to be done in Spain, is to apply for your TIE ("Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero") or residency card.  I, too, would recommend Uma Sanz at Get Legal In Spain to help with your TIE application.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thanks Kim

Some say it is a minefield and better to pay for help with forms ?

I think the first part should be ok in the uk but need help with the second part once in Spain ?

Hi Rob,

Paying a gestor in Spain to do your TIE application shouldn't be expensive and although the application form is easy enough to do yourself, getting the appointment at the foreigners' office is very difficult and worth paying a gestor to sort it out for you - their fee should only be around €100 + €12 State charge.

However, I've heard of some Spanish lawyers charging many hundreds to fill out the NLV application forms.  Several of our members have completed the NLV application themselves and this thread may be helpful for you:

Kind regards,
