Hi Trish

I purchased an apartment in Villamartin approximately 18months ago and basically loved the area so much have sold the apartment and am in the process of selling my UK home to move out permanently to the area

I spent every trip to Spain over the last 18 months driving to different areas to find the perfect location - still not sure where that is though?

You really do need a car in the area to fully research so I agree with one of your replies about transport

I have not decided on the exact location for my forever home in Spain yet and whilst I am deciding I intend to capitalise on the Estate Agent deals - I am visiting Spain again later this month spending 3 nights in a hotel to look at specific areas and properties Cost me £60 for flights - Agents pay the rest - The cost of Agents fees is really high in Spain buying and selling so I figure whilst I am looking I will make the most of the Viewing Trips on offer

I will repeat the process again after Christmas with another agent until I find what I am looking for

My plan when I sell my UK property is to move to Spain and rent if I have not secured my perfect Spanish property

I will be purchasing a left hand drive car from the UK and driving over - Spanish cars are really expensive but you do need a car to look at your leisure and car rental long term can be expensive

I guess what I am saying is that having a car can help with the search and reduce your rental time

That's my theory anyway

Good luck !

Maggie Lewis

thankyou x
