So we’ve now established (I think) you are a UK passport holder and you got your TIE card in May 2021. It’s the photo card that required you to have your fingerprints taken.
You say you didn’t need a non lucrative visa, so leaves us with guessing at one or two options.
1.Either you became resident in Spain prior to that date and you transferred your green residency to a TIE card in May 2021, lots of us did the same around that time.
or
2. You were living in Spain as an unofficial resident and you managed to prove to the foreigners office that you were living in Spain prior to the withdrawal agreement - again lots of people were in the same situation.
If it was one of these factors you will have the wording on your card as described by Kim at the beginning of the thread.
The rules on length of time out of Spain differ depending on your circumstances, so that’s why we need all the information. For UK passport holders with a TIE, it depends on if you are a permanent resident (Over 5 years) or temporary resident, prior or after Brexit. It’s all down to the date you officially obtained status as a resident.
The wording on the card tells you if you are allowed 10 months, 12 months or longer.
If you can give us this information we can point you to the official link.

I was a resident until 2014 when I give it up but I still had my green paper so in November 2020 so I had an appointment in Alicante I was then told my resident was cancelled in 2014 I went to solicitor and I was told To go to Elche police station for fingerprints 6 weeks later I had My TIE card.
So can I go out of Spain and come back when I want. Thank you.

Hi JaniceR,
For a brief period, when Alicante foreigners' office was overwhelmed with TIE applications, both Elche and Torrevieja were able to handle them, but that was suspended again many months ago.
Kind regards,
Kim

Hi Kim,
Interesting, thank you very much for letting me know.
I live in Gran Alacant and it is more or less equidistant from Alicante and Elche. However I prefer Elche for practically everything that requires going to a city.
I don't know if you have heard that "Lefties" the clothes store have opened a big store in Barcelona. And the second one is going to be in El Aljub centro comercial, 3.000 m. sq. Elche must be doing something right.
Kind regards, Jan

Hi Jan,
I absolutely agree about using Elche's foreigners' office - we got our NIEs in Elche, although we found the bigger of the 2 foreigners' office in Alicante pretty good too. We went to Torrevieja for our first attempt at residency, but it's a dingy place with so many people crammed into the reception area, it's a zoo! Our second attempt was in Orihuela City - a much more pleasant experience!
Kind regards,
Kim
