Hi everyone

We are currently awaiting for our visas to be issued in the UK for our move to Spain. We will be staying around the Villamartin Plaza area when we finally arrive in Spain. I have 3 questions. 1) Where is the nearest Police station where we can get our TIEs from? Most of the messages on the forum regarding the TIEs seem to be over 2 years old. 2) Do we have to make an appointment? and 3) Can anyone tell me what special paperwork (if any) we need to take with us. I've read somewhere that it is different for different municipalities. Any up to date info will be greatly appreciated.

Pete

The TIE system hasn’t changed so any old posts will still be relevant.

You need to go to the nearest foreigners office is in Alicante.

Once you arrive in Spain you will need to register on the padron  at your local ayuntamiento as you will need a copy of that to add to all the other paperwork required for the TIE application.  It’s obtaining a padron that changes according to the municipality you live in. Some you can just walk in and collect same day, others make you go back to collect the next day. Some you can make appointments on line. Opening hours vary from a couple of hours per week to every morning.

I would suggest in enlisting the help of a gestor. for your TIE application The process of getting an appointment can be quite difficult and they will also complete the application form and  the payment form  to take to the bank.  They’ll probably advise the nearest place to get the specific photo size required to go with your application. They will also take you up to Alicante for both the fingerprint appointment  and to collect your card when it’s ready.

Thx for your prompt reply. Can you or any forum members recommend an English speaking gestor for the job? Kind regards Pete

Hello Pete

I can recommend someone who is well known on the forum & who I used myself to change my old residencia to a TIE card....they did almost the whole process for me .

www.getlegalinspain.com

Uma  Sanz& her team (Alison, Thor etc) all speak great English and are knowledgeable & helpful - she will meet you anywhere that is ideal for you.....give them a call when you are ready.

Cheers

We use Expat Services at La Zenia as our Gestor.  He is very knowledgeable and helpful and speaks English.
