Hello Everyone,

I've come to Villena to escape the cold Canadian winter. Don't laugh. I'll be here for 4 months and I work online.

I'd be happy to have company exploring Villena and the Costa Blanca region. I don't have a car, but I plan to visit as much as I can by bus, train and my two feet.

I've lived in Canada, and I wouldn't choose Villena in the winter to get away from the cold. Good luck, get out round the  bars, join the library, if the library does spanish classes go to them. Libraries in Spain often have evening classes in different subjects.

Good luck,

Cheers, J

That's a great suggestion about the library programs. Thanks.

Hi. If you know where Dia the supermarket is, then you can easily find the market. Park in Dia, then walk back out to the main road, crossed the railway line and turn immediately left the market is in front of you. Also Villena is a cold place, we have already had a -5.3c, nice during the day in a sheltered spot, but cold once the sun has gone down 👍

Thank you, Anne. I found it. I
t's a pretty good clothing and household linens and goods market, every Thursday morning until about 1pm (I asked a couple of vendors) Merchandise was well priced, lower than at shops. Quality is mostly in line with the budget friendly prices. There was a huge lineup at one stall for natural herbal ingredients, teas, spices and infusions as well as oils. It's a stretch of outdoor booths over two blocks long, on the same walking stretch that runs north of the train station.
I'll be back.

Ahh pleased you found it. We like the spice man’s stall. The inside market on the same site is just all about food. It will be open Thursday/Friday and Saturday mornings. 😎

I will look for the inside market. That sounds even better.

Thanks again.
