We are hearing that Xàtiva is going into lockdown tomorrow 7th January. What exactly does this entail? How will the areas around it be affected, can I travel through Xàtiva to get to Rotgla for instance. It’s all very confusing.

Hello

The Valencian Communidad boundaries have been closed for a few weeks now & Xativa is within that region. Some areas relaxed their closures slightly for the Spanish holiday perio,d  so tomorrows date 7th Jan just confirms that this restriction is still in place for our region-  until 31st Jan. Our night time curfew with come forward an hour from tomorrow - to 10pm - 6am.

Hope that helps

Can I still go into Xàtiva to shop if I am living in Llocnou which is 2 kilometres from there?

Hello

Yes, you can travel anywhere  within the Valencian region, but not leave the boundaries.

Cheers

If both places are within the Valencian region there is no problem, just to add all bars and restaurants have to close by 5pm.

I think all this may be incorrect, the latest Valencian directive states that 26 towns/villages are effectively closed, the list includes Xátiva. If this is anything like the earlier lockdown, travel outside or into said towns will not be permitted.

Correct - while depressing, certain areas are effectively in "confinement" and that includes Xàtiva:

It may be best to consult your local town hall or have a look at the N332 Facebook page.

Still confused about movement restrictions. Can people from Xativa leave the town. Can people from surrounding villages go into Xativa? Where are the town boundaries. Can people from Xativa go to Plaza Mayor, Aldi, Lidl and Mercadona?
