What a wonderful time of year to be in the village... festivities for the immaculate conception were really warm and wonderful. Local food stores set up stalls around the village centre, food demonstrations on centre stage, The food wagon was constantly busy, plenty of beer, wine and not forgetting the gin and tonic stalls. The snow spread a real christmassy feeling amongst the masses of people who gathered for their celebrations together. I must say that the Christmas scene within the Church depicted the Christmas story so well. The English residents sang carols ( in English), The Spanish sang in (yes you've got it...Spanish) both of which brought fun and laughter.
It is a must that we schedule our December 2016 visit over the same period... highly recommended to you all. And on that note...
May you all be blessed with much love, laughter and good health over the festive season and into the new year. X

As you may well know, Daya Vieja is a tiny village but you may not know that it plays host to a brilliant little Indian restaurant. We have been several times and if you have a fussy 'English food only' eater in your party (like we do) they will accommodate and do a great chicken and chips. It is also very family orientated. Well worth a visit.

There's a lovely little bakery in Daya Vieja (on the main road). But be warned... you may end up with more than intended in your bag. 😁
