Hello Everyone

Attended our non lucrative visa appointment today at Manchester, The guy from BLS who was dealing with us didn't really know how long it would take to be approved. I know that all the info states 3 months but wanted to know if anyone knows someone that has received their visa any earlier.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me so far in my dilemma in which area to buy a villa around La Zenia, Villamartin, Playa Flamenca La Marina etc. I was speaking to a guy at my gym this morning who has a penthouse in Formentera Del Segura. He said he enjoys living in a small village where you are part of the community and the population remains more or less constant throughout the year!  He said buy in La Zenia area and you will always be a tourist paying tourist prices. I had already swayed towards La Zenia area rather than La Marina mainly due to having more bars / restaurants etc for my grown up kids to do so now that discussion this morning has put me back to square one!  

Anyone got any views on La Zenia / Play Flamenca area being too touristy against more inland quiet villages. I will be visiting on 23rd May for 5 days to have a drive around all these areas so maybe that will help us decide!

Dear Friends 

Thank you for having me on this forum. l am  excited having   made a decision  with my hubby, that  we will be buying a  home on the costa Blanca for use within the 90/180 days EU rules. 

We are hoping to complete by Sept  2024, and have our initial viewing  trip in May 24. However,  reading   and searching on the internet, i have not just be able to work out the best places  to focus  on, given the amount of information, so pleading to my new community to help.

We  would like a place,:

 Accessible to transport, as we  will not be driving

 Safe community, that we can occasionally lock up when we are not  renting out (plan to renting  out  restricted to 10-12 weeks of the year).

A place that has a good community, to learn Spanish,  churches and allows access to libraries, yoga, 

Are there any advantages of buying on any of the Golf courses, or is a gated community better.

Any help is greatly appreciated, drowning  on information from the internet.

Looking for advice on location to purchase a villa around La Zenia, Playa Flamenca, Cabo Roig, Villamartin and La Marina. I have never been to the area but visiting in 3 weeks time to research the area. I had picked La Zenia to focus on because of the variety of restaurants, bars and of course the shopping at the Boulvard. I then saw a lovely villa online within my budget but it was further up the coast in La Marina. I've not seen the same spec / price of property in the other areas and just wonder if anyone can tell me if this is because La Marina is considered less popular / less facilities / amenities or too far out from more popular areas or is La Marina just as good as all those other areas? Any advice greatly appreciated.

I need to know if soundproofing a ceiling on an apartment works to keep out noise.  If so does anyone know of a qualified tradesman/company in the Orihuela Costa area,

New sliding doors from lounge onto balcony to replace present PVC double gazed doors. New doors with narrower frame. Also remove the step over and replace with sliders at floor level. At present the roll down outer blind is in the top of the door. These would not have to be renewed, but the compartment over door to be made good. I hope there is a good builder out there who can do this job. I live in La Florida area.
