We have at last found a lovely site in Albatera and paid our deposit on a nice static. It all looks really beautiful, can't wait to spend our retirement there.Does anyone have any idea when we will be able to fly there? We had our covid jab weeks ago.

Tanks for any comments.

I've not heard anything about lifting the restrictions about entry into Spain but hopefully very soon.

Now that the UK is classed as a third nation are you fully aware of all the requirements to live permanently here in Spain, including visa, income and healthcare requirements to gain your residency?

Good luck and enjoy your retirement.

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum 😃

Spain's current ban on non-residents entering the country will be reviewed again on 16 March, so probably best to keep an eye on here for updates.  Realistically, however, until the UK is able to locate the missing person carrying the Brazil variant, Spain probably won't be in a hurry to re-admit non-residents.

Separately, I was reading today about the possibility of Spain and the UK discussing a scheme for vaccinated UK citizens to travel to Spain this summer.  It's early days, but Spain has said if the European Commission doesn't move quickly to develop a pan-EU scheme, they will engage direct with the UK with a view to reaching a bilateral agreement.  Apparently, Greece isn't even waiting for the EU, they've already engaged in talks with the UK.

I have been reading the same as you have and can only hope that it will all get sorted out soon.It looks as though we will own a static home but are not able to live in it. We'll have to camp at the mother-in-laws until things are clear (hopefully that won't be too long.) Thanks for your comments and I will certainly check in on this site to keep updated.

Thanks again

Andy
