Please can anyone help us, we are moving to Albatera end of month and would like to know how postal service works. I am expecting several letters and have our new address but want to know if it gets delivered directly to house or does it go to local Post Office.

If your home is located within "urban limits" (not in remote urbanizations) chances are rather good.

Whereabouts in Albatera are you? If you are in the town, no problem, if you are in the Campo you will need to get a PO box at the Correos in town (signposted well). Be aware that the manager told me that unless the po box number is included in the address they are not obliged to sort it into your box. Most letters are kept in the back office for 14 days but if it needs signing for, it is only 7 days. It helped after I went into the Correos and spoke to the manager, explaining that I was paying for a service and not all companies will accept a po box number. I only found this out when I hadn't received mail for months and complained, I was very lucky that the person who returned the unclaimed post was off ill so all my post was still in the back office. It is rare for holiday/sickness cover to be arranged in Spain.

We live off the canal on the Murcia side of the Albatera/Frailes road but I think the Crevillente side is the same as us as in no postal service.

Hello Ray, thanks for this information, it may explain why I never get letters from Suma! I even went into the Suma office to add the po box number to my address and I wasn't told it wouldn't make any difference.
