I also use doyouspain but have excess insurance in UK so now dont take their insurance.  If you take the insurance on booking then on collection the car rentals tell you that its the brokers insurance and you need to take their insurance so just be aware as you could pay twice!

I also try to use the same company which I have found really helpful when choosing the car.  Click and Rent are off airport and the shuttle bus is easy enough.  They close early so just be aware.

Choose full full so you fill up what you use.

I have posted before about Lara Cars, they include full insurance in the price so there is no extra for damage (they don't even check when you return the car). They meet you with the car at the airport and prices are very good.

I have been using Centauro for seven years, on average, 3/4 times a year from Alicante airport. I always get full comprehensive insurance cover, I have had only a positive experience with them in all those years, and the service is very personable. Full comp and they dont even check the car on return, that and the fact that they are on the ground floor makes entering and exiting from the airport easy.

What do you pay for an average week in the summer with them?

I  have  booked a  car with  Daya Nueva car hire   for  6 days  for  165 euros   everything  included.  No add ons. I am happy  😊 with  service  I received from  them

There all bandits at the airport..go local or not a brand big name...

I agree about Drivalia, which is a company I've used many times, but would suggest that you book them through 'Zest' online. They are an 'intermediary' company like 'Do you Spain' but (in my view) have much better offerings. They usually offer a free second driver, free breakdown cover, free cancellation and a level of 'top up' cover on the excess payable to the hire company with each booking. They have won a 'Which' recommendation many years in a row.  

Hi there, we always use Lara cars for car hire. They are a very helpful reliable company. They will meet you at Alicante airport with the car and you also return it to them there. You can find them on line. They have an office in La Marina.
