Everything regarding dogs

Have you thought about looking at one of the local dog pounds? Thousands of unwanted but amazing dogs in Spain. Loads of pups, or even better an older dog, avoid the puppy classes & ready socialised. Plus you can see what the dogs personality is like. All my dogs are rescues and highly recommend.

Yes, it has crossed my mind and it is an option. But, I'm a long distance runner and I'd like my dog to accompany me. From Tollers, I know they are able to do so. So, I'd need to be able to figure out what the running capabilities are of a dog we'd get in a pound. Where in the Alcoy area are the dog pounds?  Or which words do I need to google?

I have personal experience of the Akira Animal Sanctuary in Benissa, not too far from you. They're a very good charity, well run and a non profit organisation. They take in dogs from the marina Alta area. When I was there last they had some dogs that may suit your needs, a large but gentle Podenco called Tristan, really handsome dog and like all Podencos quite high energy. The other dogs that may suit where a staffie cross called Maggi, he was gorgeous. If interested visit them or email the manager Billie-Jo, they're very helpful. Other breeds that may suit Galgos? Also try the Benidorm dog re-homing sanctuary. Good luck and if you do get in touch with Akira or Benidorm dog re-homing I'd be interested to know how you got on.

That would be amazing if you did pay them a visit. Definitely make sure you speak to Billie Jo. Just a thought another dog that may suit your needs is Bruno. He's young, been in the pound all his life so social with other dogs, loves people and full of energy. Best of luck
