UK License exchange

Hi folks!

I would be very grateful if anyone can advise me. I, like many was awaiting the government decision to exchange my licence, however in February I realised I'd lost my UK licence. I still have a car in the UK and was there in February so I applied for a replacement. It took until June to finally get my new license as they returned my application twice as I didn't have enough proof of identity. I have just read that because my licence was issued after the date of the government decision I am unable to exchange it. The date I first applied was the 24th of February which I have photo id of. I obviously needed a license to exchange and also to drive in the UK. Also can anyone recommend a gestor to help me with the process and maybe give me the needed advice. All advice welcome. Thanks in advance

As a non UK resident you were not entitled to apply for a UK licence, you must also have been less than wholly truthful to do so which possibly explains why your application was twice rejected.

I suspect the date of issue of your new licence may be what will now thwart an attempt to exchange it for a Spanish one. I don't think the date of the application will make any difference.
