Selling scrap metal

Hi all,

I’m hoping somebody here may be able to help?

Our house came with a huge, homemade chicken coop. It has a bigger footprint than the actual house and was built over many years. There are several different section and rooms.

We don’t have or want chickens and have always had plans to make it a much nicer area for relaxing in as it’s pretty much attached to the house.

The construction is mainly oversized rebar, scaffold poles, box section. All this is then covered with at least 3 layers of different types of fencing.

In the UK I had an account with a local scrap merchant where I could just take anything I had, weigh it in and get paid.

Is there anything like that available here?

By the time the coop is all down I will have literally tons of it and I really don’t fancy trying to sell it in small chunks on Wallapop.

Any help and advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jamie

Hi, not sure about your area but most Spainish towns etc have scrapyards / depots that you can take various metals into and get paid for it! Normally on industrial estates so I would suggest having a scout around locally and asking about? Good luck with it and worse ways you would definitely get a local to collect and take away free of charge for the scrap!

Thanks for the info, Basil.

I’ve found a couple nearby that might be able to buy it. I’ll have a chat with them this week.

Thanks again,

Jamie
