Today is Valencia Day and so not many shops to use.   Don't know your area so cannot help with anything local to you but as you are in the Comunidad de Valencia it is a fiesta day.

Just be aware that Monday is what is called a 'red' day, a national holiday like a bank holiday in the UK and is usually shown in red on calendars, so not much choice for shopping on that date either.

I live in Almoradi and have done so for 15 years.   I hope that you settle down OK.

Lots of supermarkets still open on Bank Holidays but close early (1-2pm). Don't know your area but not too far from Villena and a similar town. Everywhere open today, but you could just look up various shops for opening hours on Internet, ie. Mercadona, Dia, Consum etc.

Hi Ines. I am not sure about Alcoy but every fiesta usually has Kuups supermarket open in Concentaina just up the road. About 7k from Alcoy up the N340. Concentaina is worth a visit with a main street with several bars and tapas is always available somewhere. Google Kuups concentaina just in case.

now since 2 to 3 weeks in Alcoy. 

Hi Ines. I am near Benimarfull not far from Muro. All I know is that Kuups opens every Sunday during the winter when others are shut and I thought they are open most holidays but maybe wrong. The best idea is get the food in before one of the Spanish holidays. A plan that I never remember.
