Morning Everyone

Hoping someone can help with this.

We are UK based. We swapped to Wise last year and had a Gestor move across the direct debits, which has worked until now. We had a notice to say Suma and IBI was due, and the suma has been taken but not the IBI. There was a ‘failed payment’ notice received but the funds are there. I have emailed the Gestor who has not replied as yet and apparently this must be paid by Tuesday to avoid charges.
Does anyone have the bank details to pay this? on the wise account it only shows a reference for the direct debit that has been set up but no banking info.

Also when in Spain for a few days last week I tried to withdraw €300 euros from the Sabadell cash point that I always use but it would not let me have this amount, only €100 ( maybe the machine was low on funds) for this reason I had to make another withdrawal the next day but I have been charged €5 for the first withdrawal and €5.16 for the second. I thought there was one free withdrawal a month? I have emailed Wise and received an acknowledgment but no reply.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you

Julie

Hi Julie, I can’t answer the IBI part but as for the cash withdrawals then the 5 euro’s on each transaction has been taken by the bank/cash machine provider not wise. You are allowed 2 cash withdrawals per month using you wise card without charge. The .16 cents is because you can also only withdraw 200 euro’s each month without charge so because you have went over this by withdrawing 300 euro’s then you have been charged the .16 cents. Hope this make sense.

Hi Pedro and thanks for your reply. So are we saying that I can use the wise account for a free withdrawal but not at Sabadell?I don’t remember any charges before and it kind of removes the advantage of the good rate wise gives . Any idea which machines do free withdrawals?
many thanks

Julie

SUMA is not a bill, it is the name of the agency that collects local taxes on behalf of the municipalities therefore to say Suma has been paid but not IBI is incorrect. There is no such bill as SUMA.

At this time of year, IBI or council tax is taken. If you pay your rubbish collection tax in two parts then the second part will be due now.

The IBI should be in the 200 to 300 euro range and the rubbish collection somewhere around 40 euro (half year).

Hello, ok it’s the Basura that’s been taken but not the IBI.

I was hoping someone could tell me how to pay this as the DD has been returned but I don’t know why and the Gestor has not replied.

Thanks

Julie

Seems to be a fair few complaining about SUMA and Wise direct debits. Most seem to say it is resolved if they go in person to SUMA but I'd have thought a gestor would have been able to do it.

If you have the bill from SUMA for IBI you can pay online at this site https://www.suma.es/PortalWeb/localizadores/cuerpo_tramites_carta_pago.xhtml?idioma=en

but you need the reference on the actual bill and I'm assuming that went to your gestor.

I shouldn't lose any sleep over it, though, as you can be fined for late payment but we're talking of less than 10 euro if you don't pay in 6 months or so.

Ok thank you that is helpful. I haven’t got the bill, rarely get one to be honest just doesn’t seem to reach me. Bit disappointed the Gestor hasn’t got back to me, can’t believe how difficult it can be to pay bills from the uk but am back in November so will have to call and see her then.

Thanks again

Julie

Hi Julie, if you search free cash withdrawals at the top of the page there are numerous threads regarding which cash machines are free and their location but to be honest they are getting fewer and fewer! Some charge 1.80 euro but even this is still a charge. Hopefully someone can recommend a machine near you or you can find the info by searching this site. Both my Basura and IBI were taken by Suma from my wise account on Monday as usual. You may need to go into a Suma office.

Thanks I’ll have a search.

Whole point of having a Gestor is so I don’t have to faff about when in holiday!

Annoying.

Thanks for your help

Hi

In my case, Suma have taken the basura by direct debit, but not the IBI. I could pay it through the website using digital certificate but when I paid basura via the website 6 months ago they also took it by DD a few days later!

So Suma clearly have my Wise bank details, but I don't know if there is a subtle difference in the way the two taxes are dd'd.

I'm loathe to pay the IBI twice!!!

Has anybody else got the same problem?

Cheers

Steve
