Yes, that’s what I thought too!! We can find the lake but not the entrance. Has anyone on here been to the visitors centre?

Sorry, no idea on that one, have never looked for it. Can you not see it using satellite images on Google maps?

Sat Nav is not to be trusted. I bought a new car 4 years ago. The manufactures navigation maps were not updated to reflect that Alicante airport had been moved. It did not recognise the changes to the N332 outside Alicante. A new underpass and roundabout system was build 10 years ago.It wanted to take a route from Santa Pola to the airport up a steep flight of stairs. A difficult task for the Toyota Land Cruiser or any 4x4 vehicle.
Before coming to Spain I drove a Mercedes that for a while produced instructions to take the next left into the North Sea.
When I use Sat Nav, if I’m not sure of the area I use Google maps top get the 6 figure grid reference of where I want to go. Works a treat the Nav system will do it’s best to find the grid reference. Sometime it complains theres no roads available. Some of the places I go do have roads they are just not on the map.
About town I use Apple CarPlay. It drops a pin on the location of the car when I get out. Then I use iPhone or Apple Watch to get to the location I want. Android has similar features. Important bit is I can always find my way back to the car.
Sat-Nav is no substitute for common sense and having a look on a map at where you want to go. I spent a morning looking for Medina Motos in Alicante. Gave up, went home checked the maps. There was a small street into the one-way system not appearing on the Sat-Nav. It also didn’t say the best option was to park one street up from the garage and walk down the stairs.

😀 brilliant post, 👍
LeckyLes.
Google maps I found works the best.
But there again I have been in this area for 13 years.and know most of the main roads.and work from there.
Hi Julie, I feel your pain.
The coastal road N332 is your friend. If you ever get lost, make your way to the N332. If the sea is on your right you are heading towards Alicante, if it’s on your left you are heading towards Cartagena.
Good luck
Hi Jackie,
Yes, and also the beautiful mountain in Orihuela is a good landmark, its just the bits inbetween! I think when we go back next time we will use google earth as suggested.
Thank you all for the replies
Julie
Try Waze it’s an app and it’s been pretty good when I’ve had to find somewhere new.
