I tried to use an automatic machine at Mercado in Alicante to recharge my bus card Wed. 7th, but all have signs saying can't be used. All were working fine a few days ago. Does anyone know what is going on?

Thanks

Hopefully machines will return shortly and not show increased prices!!?

In the meantime,  there is a TAM shop (bright green front)  on the corner of the street beside entrance to the Mercado tram station.

Because of students topping up cards these days,  there may be a queue but should have three or four staff to assist.

So just take a "turn" ticket and you can recharge any bus/tram card.

Also we find the ticket agents at the Luceros station useful as they have regular opening hours and a human being is always in the booth!    They understand many languages too.

Machines there as well.

Good luck!

Maria

Thanks Maria, I tried the booth at Mercado but just got receipt to take to office, the machines not working at Luceros either.

I guess I will have to wait or queue.
