Hi. Does anyone have first hand information about where Ukrainian refugees can get help? We have some friends arrived in Alicante but they have no where to go or understand where to find help. Thanks

Hopefully this will give you all the information that you need.

Thank you. So far, all the websites and reception areas have sent them away because the centres have no information :(

Sorry to hear that you have not received some help.
I am not in Alicante at this time.
However I try to find out any useful information and post it here.
Have you also tried facebook group Ucranianos en Alicante?

I have read that they are being procesed in Ciudad de la Luz, south of Alicante.
They should take their passport, padron and any other document that might be useful..

Newspaper Costa Banca news March 18-24 reports the following
The reception center for war refugees from Ukraine has opened in Ciudad de la Luz film studios on outskirts of Alicante city ( near airport)
National police office at film studios is open from 9.00 to 20.00, 7 days a week to supply Ukrainian people with residency procedures/documents.
Phone 910 474 444 for appointment/info operator will speak your language.

Thank you. This is for nie number etc. this is not urgent as Ukrainians have automatically the right to live and work in Spain - I was looking for somewhere for them to live, access to healthcare and schools for children. Etc

Hi Drew 13,
That same newspaper article mentioned help with healthcare and schooling.
Here in Ireland, rooms at Dublin airport have been made available to help the arriving refugees. They receive all information needed to proceed to accommodation that has been made available.
Hopefully similar help is provided at the Ciudad de Luz film studios in Alicante.
Perhaps that phone number above may provide a few answers.
