I´m also with ASSSA and have been happy with their policy and how easy it is to access medical services. You are correct when you say that there are agents here for specific PHI companies, rather than brokers who trawl the whole of the market to get you the best deal, this means you need to do a lot of the legwork yourself. I obtained quotations from 7 different companies, 2 of which I immediately discounted because the premium was almost double the price of ASSSA´s quote, with no appreciable difference in cover. I narrowed it down to ASSSA, Salus and DKV - Salus was a little dearer and DKV was a little cheaper, but ultimately I opted for ASSSA because of the proximity of the medical services available to my location.
