I want to import and register my car from Croatia to Spain.

What documents do I need to have with the car?

Should the documents be translated into Spanish?

How much is the car tax cost if I import a car from another European Union country.?

Can the gestor help me with that?

Thank you in advance!

If you register the vehicle not later than 6 months from the date of setting residence in Spain, you are entitled for a partial or toal exemption from import taxes and duties. Most important is a COC from the manufacturer. A gestoria should not take more thn 400,- + disbursements to do all the paperwork, and the whole process should not take more than 1 week (I did it in 3 days).

Please, can you recommend me English speaking gestor close to Almoradi+-20km.

Thank you!

Mmm. I certainly do not wish to contradict Killjoy, because he has gone through the process, but his information is erroneous, though he is correct in that a gestor should become involved. However, they will normally only become active after a car has passed the ITV (MOT). Very few cars have a Certificate of Conformity issued by the manufacturer, normally an engineer’s report is produced in lieu. The timescales for tax exemption is equally not correct

The process is fraught with bureaucracy, which is easily handled by a specialist, especially now that UK registered cars (but not this EU Croatian car) will have to go through Customs
