But the flooding only really affected a small part of Almoradi - many more places around the area were affected much more! I have lived in Almoradi for 15 years and it is a lovely place to live.
Was the El Banet area affected by flooding. We are thinking of buying in this area

Almoradi is a nice place to live, very friendly mixed population, always(in normal times) something going on in the town square,a great (again in normal times) fiesta" Moors and Christians" in August.
As I recall the bar " Fortuna" is owned and staffed by Russians and there is a sizeable Russian clientele along with ExPats and locals ,popular place.
Would recommend a place as near to the centre of town as you can, that way you have all the services,hi speed broadband,UK/Irish TV ,Health centre, chemists bars restaurants, plumbers, electricians, dentists everything you get in the UK on your doorstep.
Plus ,in the winter it gets cold
In Spain in winter it can get cold and in town it is possible to get mains gas etc.
Town is on the motorway access to both Alicante and Murcia airports about an hour in both directions.
Beach living is nice ,close to the beach is nice if you have a car,Almoradi has a bus station ,and occasionally buses!
Good luck.

They had not had as much rain in one day for over 100 years as they did on the 13th September 2019, plus something happened to the river as far away as Murcia I believe and there was also a breach of the river around the roundabout junction towards Algorfa. Only parts of the town were flooded.
