I appreciate the messages of support. Making the effort to learn even a little Spanish will bring its own rewards. We return to Spain in August for our second trip. I have arranged to start a class in September. I am looking forward to becoming part of the community as my Spanish progresses.

Learning a language that is not your native tongue, uses the part of your brain where dementia starts, so that should be a good enough reason to learn another language!

That was another reason why I started to learn Spanish, to keep my brain active and to try to keep Alzheimer’s at bay as it seems to be hereditary in my family 😔
