Hi

I really hope some of you out there can help me as I am at my wits end. My husband is 66 years old and even though hes getting UK pension his S1 hasnt arrived as we have been told more info needs to be given{which I have given) Im eu citizen and my residency is coming up soon but as he hasnt an S1 we need to take out private health insurance,it has to have NO EXCESS on it and it has to be paid upfront for 1 year.

Mapfre had given us a quote but because of his age they say there is no alternative and excess needs to be paid which we have no problem with but our lawyer says it wont do. can any of you please give me some help about what to do. (I am 11 years younger than my husband too)

Thank you all in advance and look forward to reading your thoughts on this.

Cath

Try ASSA. No excess on their policies as far as I can remember.

But the S1 people were incredibly helpful when I applied for mine (my wife is younger than me and an EU citizen), so maybe phone them again and see what the problem is.
