Contemplating moving back to the UK & want to know the best way to leave, with all the legal requirements fulfilled. I am a permanent Spanish resident & just got my TIE card a few months ago so, feel a bit reticent to give it up so soon  Thanks in advance for your advice.

If you haven't yet become tax resident in Spain and won't have stayed longer than 182 days before you leave then you just need to sign off the padron. I suppose you really should hand back your TIE card but the important thing is to be able to prove that you're out of Spain for over 183 days, (passport stamps, bank account use, utilities use). Maybe employ a gestor to hand your card in.

You'll still need to pay non resident tax on any property you own and abide by the 180/90 day rule. Do ensure that your passport is stamped on entry & exit.

Thanks for the info. I am a tax resident & lived here for over 16 years so, I'm trying to make sure I leave with everything sorted.
