Attached is the bit from my better half's declaration for 2019 that shows both the state and community deduction.

(You don't know what I had to go through to get this info so be nice...)

This is what you need to check to see if it still valid:

Renters who pay tax get a deduction on their declaration for a rent contract of at least one year.

If your rent contract is dated before 1 January 2015 you get a state discount

If your rent contract is dated after 23 April 1998 you get the Valencian discount

Please post whatever you find out so we all know...

So my conclusion is that for ME the deduction possibility is abolished since 2015, since I started renting 2019. My accountant advised me correct in that matter. When you allready rent for 8 years you are lucky! (Like Steve).

So only tenants that started renting BEFORE 2015 can deduct .

Check this:

If your rent contract is dated after 23 April 1998 I think you should get the Valencian discount.  This is different from the state discount. I'm not a tax accountant and the information above is on the gov't tax website. Ask them. When I read it I understood that there is a Valencian deduction.

Good luck.

Valencian Law : Interesting IF the only condition is that the start of the lease should be AFTER 1998 AND in case this law is NOT changed in 2015...

Does anybody know the answer to this question?

The landlord should have an energy certificate.

The landlord should put a deposit.

At the start of the rent you should send a modelo 600 to the tax office in valencia.
