As a Bankia non resident if I keep €2000 in the account I don't incur any fees. They have a fee free online account  called UENTA ON

We have a Sabadell non residents account and the charges are €30 per quarter plus they charge to inform the taxman that you have a Spanish Bank Account! Just had debits for €42 x 2 as we have a joint account. Apparently, this is required by law every two years but why they have to charge for it, I don't know. It's a rip-off.

Hi Byron,

Thank you for your very kind comments... we did wonder with Sabadell. We are thinking to move there permanently. We are going next week to check other banks. I would let you know all the outcome on our return week after next..Thank you in the meantime. Much appreciated. Kind regards. Serge & Julie
