Hi, I am looking at moving to Spain in the next couple of years I am now in the process of getting my Irish citizenship to obtain a Irish passport (EU) I was wondering as a painter who works in hospitality environment how easy or not is it to find work out in Spain ? Non Spanish speaker any help appreciated 😀

Building work in general, including painting and decorating, is classed as a surplus occupation, ie there are more workers than there are vacancies.

Most work as self employed and rely on other expats to employ them on an as needed basis and it would be difficult to get employment working for a firm. 

If you get an Irish passport you would need to show an income of 600 euro a month and have private health insurance. If you become officially self employed (autonomo) you would pay social security to obtain medical care for everyone in your household. This social security, eventually reaching around 250 euro a month, is payable if you have earned anything or not.
