Hi Bev

There are lots of various options and the most favourable, if you have a good and stable internet connection, is IPTV (Television over the internet).

If you want to drop me a private message I will happily send you some information... it is a lot less expensive than the 70€ per month I can assure you !!

Does Firestick work in Spain?  I missed a BBC programmes the other night and tried to watch on my iPad on iPlayer and it would not let me as it recognised I was in Spain.

We currently watch UK programmes on Freesat but would quite like a few Spanish programmes if possible.

We are newbies to Spain so not sure about the possibilities with television programmes (and many other things!) but find this forum helpful.

You will need VPN in Spain to access BBC content. Be sure to use the 'Free Trials' first before you pay the annual fee as the BBC have started to also block the known IP addresses of VPN providers.

I was wish IPVanish but all their servers are now blocked. I now use Express VPN who continually work around that problem, IPVanish dont seem to care.

You can also try talking to your broadband provider, they often provider TV packages, but again, check the facts for what you DO want to watch!

Hope it helps

I think I must be a Luddite!  All I got was something saying it had 14 subscribers and no content!  Can you give me any more pointers, please, Dave?

Dave

I actually use an alternate IPTV provider, 80€ per year and I get all the channels I can imagine, including the regular well known UK satellite provider channels and sports, 3PM kick offs etc, plus TV Boxsets and Movies on demand.

As you quite rightly state, none of which requires a VPN, although it is recommended as SOME not ALL ISPs have latched on to those using IPTV and will throttle download speeds (note I say throttle and not ban!)

My point about the VPN is for the regular person who is not using an IPTV service. I thought I would explain my point but I am not disagreeing with you... if that makes sense!

Anyone who wants to know about the IPTV then please message me and I will happily explain further as I am not sure it is allowed in the open forum.
