Hello. We are currently in Benidorm living in our tourer. We want to move it to the Mar Menor. Unfortunately I've now sold my car due to Spanish regulations and now have a small car. Does anyone know someone or a company that would tow my caravan for me. Obviously I am happy to pay a reasonable fee. It would probably be end of October. Thanks. Phill

Hi Phils 61
You are in trouble mate an English car cannot tow as its not got ITV or registered in Spain, Spanish cars cannot tow English Caravans, Ive bought 3 vans from UK to re register its was around 1600 each euros each owch. Now because of brexit its even more expensive because you have to pay import duty. You need to find a compay that can load on truck to bring it down to Mar Menor its your onloption. Good luck but its not going to be cheap.
Pete

Unless it's a Spanish registered caravan I don't think that it can be towed by a Spanish company.
You may need to get it trailered.

Is the consensus that it is not possible to tow this caravan from one location to another?
What if the tow car is British registered, is mot/taxed/insured in the UK, is fully legal and the caravan bears the same registration number as the tow car? Is it still illegal? If so, how to people take their caravans to Spain on a regular basis?
Not looking for reaction nor argument, just a serious observation.

Yes it would be possible to tow the UK (assumed) caravan using a UK registered car with the same registration plates but the OP has said that he has sold his UK registered car and that the car he has bought (assuming Spanish?) is unable to tow the caravan.
I don't know of any Spanish transport companies that use UK registered vehicles but it might be possible for a Spanish transport company to tow the caravan using some sort of trade plate?, as in the UK. Failing that it, would need to go on the back of a transporter.
(Not sure about the "said this, didn't say this" comments but I hope the links come in useful)

Just a thought. Would it be possible and legal to ask, hopefully a friend, who has a UK registered car here in Spain that has a tow bar fitted, to tow it for you. A far as I remember ,but could be wrong, UK caravans do not have a registration plate, so our good friend could get another set of plates with that cars number made up and attach to caravan ? Obviously it would need insurance to do so, but might this plan just be possible ?
Fingers crossed and good luck !
Cheers
Adrian

Hi,
below a link to a Murcia based company that does caravan moves that you could try along with the two that PeterPan has already supplied.

There is a few English chaps based in the area that do moving of vans etc, they have both English & Spanish registered 4x4's so I assume that is why they have them. I'll touch base with a contact there and PM you.
