Me and my sister would love to retire in Spain but would prefer to rent.  We will not be working but living on our retirement money.  Is that now allowed? I wasn't sure because of Brexit.

Thanks for any information

I have lived here in Benidorm for 8 years and rented an apartment for all that time, so yes you can live in Spain renting.

To move to Spain however,  you will need to apply for a non lucrative visa fron the nearest Spanish consulate and meet the income and healthcare requirements. For a single person the income requirements are around €28,000 per annum plus around €6,500 for each additional family member.

If you are below retirement age you will need full private healthcare paid for a full year. If you are of retirement age and receiving UK government pension you can apply for the S1 healthcare cover which is paid for by the UK government.
