I want to move to Benidorm or the Costas but I’d like some advice about how easy is it with Brexit in place?

This must be post number 20 on the same thing in the last couple of weeks.

Read this How to apply for a Non-Lucrative visa (NLV)

Then come back with any questions. You don't say if you are looking for work which would be different and also assuming you are a UK citizen.

You must tell us where you live now and what passport you hold. Are you retiring or wanting to work. etc, etc.........

To retire here you will need an income of around €28800 per annum for the non lucrative visa.

It depends on what nationality you are? EU/EEA Passport holders have freedom of movement throughout the EU/EEA. Non EU/EEA Passport holders, including UK passport holders, need to apply for a visa in advance. In the UK the visa can be applied for through one of 3 Spanish Consulates London, Manchester, Edinburgh. This link explains the type of visas available and what needs to be provided to satisfy the relevant visa requirements:

Hi,

Since brexit anyone with a UK passport has to have a visa to be able to live permanently in Spain.  A non lucrative visa is usually for retired people and a work visa for anyone wanting to live and work in Spain.

To get a work visa you will need to apply for and get a contracted position in Spain and then you will need that work contract as part of your work visa application. You can't just move to Spain without having some sort of visa. You apply for the work visa from the Spanish consulate in London, Manchester or Edinburgh.

All available work in Spain must be offered to an EU citizen first by law.

A non lucrative visa means having to prove a high level of annual income (28,800 euros) plus full healthcare.

I know it's not what you want to hear but that is one consequence of brexit.

Please see my previous post. You will need to apply for a visa through the Spanish Consulate in Edinburgh. The link provided will explain the types of visas available and what you need to provide to satisfy the Spanish authorities.

You need a confirmed job offer with a guaranteed contract before you can apply for a work permit to move to Spain. The job offer must be verified by the foreign office in Spain and stamped as such or you need to have an occupation in great demand in Spain. Usually a medical degree or medical research, some types of engineering, high end IT work and so on.

If coming with a work permit, you will not need private medical cover as you will be paying social security which covers you for that but your employer must state that no EU citizen could carry out the work.

Best of luck but, yes, things have certainly changed since Brexit.

Please see my previous post. It explains that as you are not a EU/EEA passport holder you will need to apply for a visa to be able to stay and work in Spain. The UK is nolonger in the EU therefore freedom of movement is not applicable to UK citizens.
