How to get rid of termites in wood

Can anyone give any advice.
We have a wooden gazebo in our garden , the wooden posts have been built in to the concrete ground. We have recently noticed that the wood along the bottom has been eaten by termites.
can anyone advise how to get rid of these, once we have killed off the termite we will then suspend the gazebo and put on metal brackets as apposed to in the ground, but we first need to destroy these little things.
