Hi We are thinking of buying a caravan in Benidorm to use for the 180 days through out the year My husband seems to think that we have to pay a small fee everytime we come is this true ? Can,t understand how he has come to this conclusion if we have bought the caravan and payed the site fees Any advice would be appreciated Thank you x

Cica €5000 per year site fees. Electric extra (you may get a daily allowance of kw, depends on site) ….. additional folk staying attracts additional fees.

May be cheaper to have an apartment and you’ll have no maintenance/costs/upkeep or if a caravan you’ll have no storage fees.

Saying that, we travel each year in a Motorhome and stay on a site in Benidorm regularly.

I know several people who have caravans on sites in Benidorm and I've not heard of this extra fee. Who told your husband that?

There are several very good caravan sites in Benidorm but they are all on the outskirts.

The only fee I could think of Steve is a moving fee by a storage yard to site/store the van. That only applies if it is a caravan that is not sited permanently on the site, a caravan that is moved to/from a touring pitch on a site.

Yes that probably is the only extra charge that could be applied. I was speaking to a permanent resident on one of the sites about this and she didn't know of any other charge.

When you buy a property you pay 10% of its value in tax I am told, can you tell me if that’s the same when you buy a caravan? I have posed this question before but no one answered

There is lots of useful information and suggestions on this site

https://benidormcaravansales.com/2021/04/06/buying-a-caravan-in-spain-after-brexit/

I would think the Spanish transfer tax on Caravans would be similar to cars etc. I see 4% of the value mentioned in a couple of places but it varies between autonomous communities.
