Yes it’s normal practice because unless you’re on the crossing most won’t stop.

Which......is (as I say) just my experience of the opposite. It must me, in just all the towns, I have visited, they "stop" before, one even thinks of approaching it!. We must stay clear of your towns!

The concern I have is their lunatic placing of crossings, just after a roundabout exit or just after a junction, so you are often looking for any approaching traffic as you turn.....then see a million people crossing right in front of you.

On a last note in Spain....... I have noticed ( painted, on the road surface & a line) the word "STOP" ( before a junction!) before a view from the driver to even see! The road planning officer´s have a different way of thinking things of where they put their crossings. But, there´re are many. per kilomtere. A good thing in towns. It´s called calming. I still believe, in my experience, it´s safer here in Spain. My opinion.

Hello Ray how are you today

I suppose Brits are world famous for being Whinging Poms. Anything that is not the same as back in Blighty is wrong. The whole world should mirror Blighty and it’s mighty empire. It does sometimes surprise why people ‘’moan alots’’ ever leave the land of perfection ‘’knife crime, acid in face’’.

Have a good evening.

Here we go again. Hardly surprising.

"You can't complain about or change a system that works, just because you think you are more expert than the planners." Well, well. Apparently I have claimed to be an expert according to this odd individual, whereas I was totally unaware of making such a claim. Seems this site really does contain some strange people just waiting at their keyboards to snipe at others who make a subjective comment that is contrary to their own.

This is called freedom of expression. Ever heard of it?

For this individual's information, I have driven in more than 20 countries from Europe, Eurasia, USA, Middle East and the USA. I do, it might be said, have just a wee bit of experience of road planning in countries other than Spain and the UK.

The mention of "immigrants" is somewhat baffling, but life is too short to waste trying to decipher the ramblings of .........I was going to say idiots, but I wont.

What you have to remember, and what every Spanish man and woman knows, is that in a collision between a car and a pedestrian or bike in the absence of conclusive evidence to the contrary the fault ALWAYS lies with the car driver.
