Moving to Benidorm with a Type 1 diabetic child

hi, myself and my husband really want to emigrate to Benidorm, however, my 7 year old daughter has type 1 diabetes and is currently managing this through the diabetes team at our hospital and by using an insulin pump. I have spoken to our diabetes team and they have confirmed that we may not be able to obtain a pump in Spain. she also receives DLA in the UK.

I've tried to research moving to Spain with diabetes but I cant find any information on this. Does anyone know if there are any diabetes care teams in Benidorm for children and where I would even start to be able to speak to someone to see how we go about getting her the right care in Spain.

I assume you'll be working here and paying into social security, in which case you would qualify for state health care.

yes we would both be looking for permanent employment. It’s just so daunting all the things you have to consider when you want to emigrate.

From what I’ve read, you have to be working for 5 years before you can apply for residency and therefore apply for state health care? But I could be wrong as There’s just so much information it can get confusing. I really wouldn’t mind paying private to ensure she gets the best care.
