I live in UK.  However I have a very old friend (met ay school.72 years ago).  She lives alone.  Broke her hip in January.  Was mugged and her phone stolen the dsy before she fell

Has new phone with dual Sim cards, but is unable to reinstate WhatsApp so we cannot actually see/contact her.

Her son is with her at present but leaves Sunday.  She needs more support than she seems to be getting. Confined to bed

Are there any expat community help groups

Hi,

I don't know of any support groups in Benidorm other than "Help Benidorm"

www.helpbenidorm.org

Perhaps if you speak to her doctor then arrangements could be made with a Social worker to visit.

There are several private care companies that will visit on arrangement but can be expensive (around €20 per hour) I can recommend one care company in particular if you require them.

That is the Problem in Spain for elderly people, Social care is virtually non existent.

Regarding her new phone, if her son takes the phone to "Andys phone stall" in the indoor market Andy will look at it immediately and fix it for her, probably cost next to nothing.

Contact the social services office of the mayor or the health center for help.
