I'm a carer. 30 years experience. And looking to moving to spain. I Know you have to have job before getting a working visa. Could anyone help if there are care jobs going for English people please. Also my friend is a chef if there's any cook jobs going thanks

Hi,

Firstly there are queues of cooks/chefs looking for jobs in benidorm so it's unlikely that anyone from the UK would get a contracted position.

There are several care companies in and around Benidorm with English carers and clients. They hourly pay is low and awkward hours. I only know of a few carers that are on contract and usually for the minimum hours of 10 per week. I doubt that you would have the income to satisfy any visa requirements.

Hi I’m a 50 year old disabled man in the UK but I have a 2 bedroom holiday caravan in Benidorm and I’m looking into moving over there full time but I need a full time live in carer but I wouldn’t mind if your partner stayed there too but please just take that into account when saying what weekly rate you would be looking for. The agency care their charge €750 per week. I know it wouldn’t be a quick fix but what wages would you expect per week? Please email me directly to [email protected]

Hi,

It's not me that runs a benidorm care company, I was just advising about the availability of jobs within the sector. I do know the owner of a local company but you would need to contact them directly.

Are you familiar with the visa requirements to be able to come and live in Benidorm permanently? If you wouldn't be working you would need to apply for the non lucrative visa and prove that you have sufficient income and healthcare cover. You can't move to Spain without a visa.

Steve

Hi Tina

I don’t know if you are interested or not but I’m not in a position to move to Spain full time at the moment but I currently live in Brighton, UK and I’m currently looking for a live in care who can work on a 3 week and 3 weeks off basis.

I go over to Benidorm roughly once every 2 months for 2 weeks at a time and the successful candidate for this position will be the carer who always comes out with me as my carer. The working hours are 8am until 10pm but you must stay in after 10pm because in an emergency I can call on you during the night for which extra time off will be given sometime during the next day. You are entitled to a 2 hour break at a suitable agreed time agreed between us and you can go anywhere you want during your break. Just in case you are interested I have sent you my number in a private message. By the way when we stay in Benidorm we stay in my caravan.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

I think Dave is just wanting to help someone out cash in hand whilest saving money while he's here instead of spending a fortune on a big company. Nothing wrong with that, happens all over.

Yes, I got the posting a bit mixed.

I can understand Dave trying to organise his own care system but with all the visiting limitations and expenses, its unlikely. Wouldn't a work visa also be required too?

Benidorms care companies are very competitive in prices.

If he's staying in a caravan with his carer for 2weeks he doesn't need a visa. Care companys aren't cheap  so if he's able to save money and help someone else out then fair play. Weather anyone agrees with it or not but most bars and restaurants have people working for them cash in hand. And the few carers I know all do the do the same

If he's paying the air fare, baggage and any other added expenses and 2 weeks wages then that will work out far more expensive than a local care company who do vastly reduced rates for 24 hour care.

Just to clarify my situation for you all. I currently get all of my care costs paid in full by the NHS continuing healthcare scheme even when I come out to Benidorm for roughly 2 weeks every 2 months so there’s no problem at the moment except that 1 of my carers is leaving so I’m looking for another carer that’s willing to work on a 3 week on/3 week off basis and when working the rate of pay is £1029 per week. Tax and NI will be taken off.

But at some point in the future I want to retire to Benidorm full time via a NLV and I know then I won’t be able to get funded NHS care and so I am just looking at options. Thanks all. David
