Hi, I'm 54 and looking to relocate to the job I'm fabulous at.
Unfortunately I only speak English, would there be such a role?
Many thanks

We really should have a sticky to reply to these as they come up every day.
Before we reply we need to know a few more things. Where you are relocating from. what country passport you hold, what age your are etc.
We aren't being nosey but the rules are very different. For example (and I think I've posted this at least a dozen times in the last week alone) if you hold a 3rd country passport like UK, you will find it extremely to get a work visa for Spain. If you hold a EU or EEA passport then very easy.
But you do need to provide more information for anyone to be able to answer your questions.
And how difficult would it be for a Spanish person to move to UK without speaking English to get a similar job?

It would be very easy for a foreigner to get a job in UK without speaking English, have you been here lately?! So thanks for your rude comment!
As the majority of the world do business in English I don't see a problem in asking this!
You obviously knew I was from the UK, so why make such an issue out of it.
I asked a genuine question, from a genuine soul and this is how I get treated. Thank you, I'll stay in London, they're more polite!!!

No response? Were you automatically rude because you saw the same post without reading it? I told you my age, although that has nothing to do with Employment. As I said, I wasn't asking about a visa, but about work. Guess what, I'm bright enough to work out visas and know I'll get a golden one!

Marcliff was not be rude he only outlined how Difficult it is for UK passport holders to gain employment in Spain due to new rules regarding Brexit, The 90 day rule have read up on that, It is employer who will get visa but only after they have advertised it to EU citizens first and if they cannot find a suitable EU citizens for position,
Yes this topic comes on this forum 3 or 4 times a week 🤔 it is not as simple anymore to arrive in Benidorm or any other Spanish city and look for employment those days are confined to History books,
You are correct in saying you will remain in London but you should read up on rules regarding UK citizens criteria to gain employment in Spain, no I am trying to be rude, it just the way things are in Spain and rest of Europe after Brexit
With an attitude like that I would be surprised if any job offer in any country including the UK would be forthcoming.

Very well put, PA answered a Phone in Spain with no Knowledge of Spanish, that for, Only Fools and Horse next episode 👏
Let her do some more research.
It amazing how many UK 🇬🇧 citizens do not realise the Fully reliase the consequences of Brexit, every week here UK citizens just think it a matter of arriving in Spain 🇪🇸 and off to work they go,
That also applies in the rest of EU, Then the low pay and in Costa Blanca South Rents have shot up,

Beckie you have completely missed the point of Marcliff post.
Language is not the main obstacle, it’s the type of passport you hold.
As an English speaker you could hold a British passport or an Irish passport Yes you could also hold a Canadian, US, Australian passport , which fall into the same category as UK, but as the vast majority of posters on here are British or Irish we’ll just narrow it down to those.
With a British passport you’ve got pretty much zero chance of obtaining work unless you have skills that can’t be found in the EU. In that case your prospective employer would have to jump through hoops to get the necessary paperwork before they could offer you a job. You’d need them to complete that bit before you could apply for the necessary visa . Also costs for both parties here are quite high - so unless you have specialist engineering skills it’s probably never going to happen.
With an EU passport your job opportunities are much higher, no visa involved, just the normal amount of frustrating red tape to get you to eventually be able to work.
Most expat business people speak Spanish, it’s necessary tool for the job, whether it’s speaking to customers or ordering supplies. Businesses here deal with lots of different nationalities, in most areas in the Costa Blanca the number of Northern Europeans (Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden etc) now outnumber the Brits/Irish. There’s also a high number of Russians in a lot of the tourist areas. So you see the common language has to be the language of the country you live in.
It’s also not like the UK,who provide translators for free for foreign speakers. Here for instance if you need to go to the doctors/hospital if you can’t speak Spanish, then you have to pay for your own translator
Also as Sligogent mentioned even though the cost of living is slightly lower than the UK, wages are much much lower (especially if you’re used to London wages) and taxes much higher. So even if you qualify for a Golden Visa, as stated in another of your posts you’d have to wait for your 500k+ purchase to go through land registry before you could apply for your visa and before you could then apply for residency. Then you could look for employment. You’re probably looking at at at least a 6 month time scale from placing the deposit on your house, so you’ve got that time to get to grips with the language.
