Hi,

I live in Benidorm and lucky enough to not have to work. In my time here I've got to know a lot of out of work tradesmen (over a pint) who will work for less than minimum wage. Benidorm is a great place to live if you don't need to work. There is a lot of competition here for people looking for w...

...ork. Any openings are usually given firstly to family and friends (often wether qualified or not) and then friends of friends.

The only way you are likely to secure a job is to actually be here and do the leg work to distribute your CV. It seems that most employers and businesses are not interested in replying to unsolicited emails.

Sort yourself a good long holiday here in Benidorm with that sole purpose of finding a job.

I wish you the best of luck and if I can help you with any specific questions about Benidorm I'll be happy to help.

Steve

Respect, at last a positive effort to help someone... I applaud both you and lecky les, people who are obviously experienced in all the aspects of the guys want of a job.. well done, and both helpful posts.

I dont post here much anymore, too many moans and unhelpful people who forgot where they come from.

Why not be positive people, you live in the land of sunshine, you forgot why?

A UK electrician qualification will be acceptable for work in Spain. What is required is attending Spanish College to pass an exam showing you understand the Spanish requirements. Try and find a qualified UK electrician who has already passed the exam and ask questions.

Most UK qualifications can be transferred to the Spanish equivalent. Some require an exam to verify.

Being fluent in Spanish is not always a requirement. Work based Spanish language can be enough.

I passed the AESA advanced drone pilot exam. Using Google translate. Some of the native Spanish speakers found the exams difficult. The UK PfCO (Drone license) is one of the few qualifications without a Spanish equivalent. A UK PfCO holder would be required to pass the full Spanish training course and exams.

Use Google to find electricians who have already converted to the Spanish qualification.
