Hello,

This last Friday 11th August I arrived into Benidorm bus station at 6pm, having taken the bus from Alicante airport. I picked up my small black, cabin sized suitcase but when I got home I realised it had been confused for another one which must have looked the same.

I took it back to the bus station and they are keeping it safe for it to be collected. I have gone to ask for mine but I am still waiting and hoping it is handed in.. I have also emailed the police.

Inside the luggage I have medication, gifts for my family and new binoculars. If anyone can help I'd be really grateful as all my clothes were in there too. Is there anything else I can do?

Thank you so much,

Hannah

Hello

If that other  suitcase had any I.D inside, then the owners should be contacted as they probably have yours ---would the bus station go to the trouble of checking that, I don't know?

Remember also they could be any nationality & not necessarily English speakers. Not sure emailing the police (in English?) would help much

Its quite a dilemma for you & Im sorry that it happened but without visible tags/ribbons etc or I.D on your luggage its so easy to make that mistake...I hope you get it back

Cheers

Thank you..  nor mine nor the other suitcase had any I.d tags unfortunately.  I have very much learnt to have that clear now:(

I will contact the bus and police again.

I appreciate your reply, thank you

Please go to the police station in person, with your passport for ID, to report the incident.

Do you remember what bus company you travelled, if so contact their office. Again in person, emails will get you knowhere, particularly in August and in English.

Keep checking in person at the bus station.

Cheers, J

Not much help now, but when we travelled regularly we always tied a brightly coloured ribbon round the handle of our cases to identify them as ours. I really hope your case is handed back in. 🤞
