Padron renewal

Can anyone help me please/
I need to renew my padron because I am in process of imorting my UK car to Spanish plates.
I enrolled on padron at Town Hall 3 years ago and I have renewed it once at office near Mad Munk but I need an appointment but there is a 16 day waiting time, so I've booked an appointment at La Cala only 8 day wait.
Now someone has told me that La Cala EAM will not renew my padron and I have to go to Town Hall.
Can anyone advise me the correct procedure.
