I have been offered an apt.in Albir for 12 months, commencing this September. Are there many places in Albir, such as shops, restaurants, supermarket etc which remain open all year round?

Yes Albir is a residential town not just a holiday destination. There are many shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets open all year round but maybe will close a little earlier in the evening during winter months.

If you are a UK passport holder and want to live in Spain for a full year you will need to apply for a visa or be tied to the 90 day rule.
