Moving to Benitachell in June

The largest ex pat communities on the Costa Blanca are the British, Germans, Dutch, and Scandanavians - mostly from northern European climates. There are fewer Americans because you have so many options in the USA. I have heard American voices on the Costa Blanca North- look out for them and say hello!

Also as you begin to settle and find your way I'm sure you might find a few.

Yes, we have met so many from the countries you mentioned during our stays in Costa Blanca.

Actually, we do not mind that there are few Americans as everyone we have met so far have been great.

We are retired and decided to move full time to Benitichess as we love the climate and the people.

We are originally from the coast in California.

I am a water colorist and plan to paint and teach in Benitachell.

I am an American from Southest Virginia that just relocated here in March with my British husband from Scotland. 

We are about an hour away from you in small mountain village named Pinet. It's a small community here of around 130 lovely people that have so been warm and welcoming to us.

thank you for your lovely reply. We really look forward to meeting you and Bob.   

We have lived in Spain for many years (me since 2000 and David my husband since 1998) and apart from three years when we moved to Portugal, just for a new adventure :) we decided Spain was better and moved back last November.  We live on Los Romeros/Calistros and our views are fantastic. We are on the mountain behind the football pitch & swimming pool, so we have west facing views of the town and all around. Wonderful.  We have two rescue dogs and 5 cats, so magnets for a sob story :)   Before moving here we have lived in Moraira, Jalon Valley and Benissa.  Hopefully, this is our last move !!!

I used to go to a painting class in Javea many years ago and have done nothing since as moving takes a lot out of you, but looking forward to starting again.

Have you bought your property ? or are you renting initially ?  When do you arrive exactly ?  Are you on Facebook ?

So loved your welcoming reply.

Funny that you used the word adventure in your comment about Portugal.  We consider our life one big adventure..We call it the Rosenthal Adventure. 

We will have a lot to talk about when we meet.

We bought a Finca in Benitichell..fabulous and perfect for painting and teaching.  The adventure finding is another long story.

So we will be arriving June 19 in the evening and we will stay 1 1/2 months before coming back to Texas.

During our short stay we will have the kitchen remodeled.. Not a huge headache for me as I am Interior Designer.

We will be living in the house with only beds for awhile as our furniture will not come until next year.

On Jan 1 we will come back to Benitichell to check on the house.  We will have the entire inside painted and take care of necessary projects concerning the house.

We will go home late Feb. or Mar. and put our home here up for sale.

Once it sells we will have containers get our belongings and sail off to Spain.

Anyway, long story short we should be 100% in by May of next year.  Really does seem ages off but that is okay as I am super busy here with shows, teaching and Interior Design work.

Bob will turn 71 in June and I turned 71 last Feb.

Wow, I had planned to make this brief but I see that I have gone on and on..

Originally from Santa Monica and then from Silverstrand Beach in Ventura county and now in Texas... and soon full time in Spain!

Someone else in the area also responded..Not sure you can see the rather long email I sent to that couple????
