Are you living in Spain Kenbo, as I’m in the UK. My understanding is that the Wise BE code is for using Euros across Europe, and irrelevant to where you live?
Somebody will probably correct me though!

Likewise in UK Steve, I was just making a suggestion as to why someone would say it was 18 digits ?

My IBAN is BE followed by 14 digits , same as stevec61 - maybe it's because we're both called Steve lol!

I use mine principally to transfer money from my Lloyd's A/C to the Wise card or to my Caixa A/C but equally can do it the other way if neccessary so what is the advantage of one over the other?
I pay Sterling into my WISE £GB account and then transfer Sterling to my WISE €Account.

Exactly what I do, I then convert Sterling into euros, which I can then use in Spain via the Wise debit card
