Yeah, that happened to me as well, but they changed the IBAN for me anyway!

I tried to add £985 to my Wise GB account paying with my Starling debit card, a sterling to sterling transaction, it showed a fee of £2.96.
I rang Wise who confirmed that there shouldn't be any fee at all and suggested that the fee must be Starling's ? I called Starling who said there was no charge for sterling to sterling, so I am stuck, no one wants to admit where the problem is.

Hi Ken - I’ve never encountered any problems adding £’s to my Wise GB account. I make my payments from my Virgin Money UK account by simple transfer, never encountered any fees….

Wise have just replied to my email on the subject.
Turns out there is a fee if you pay by card ( 0.3% ) as this is considered a faster method of payment.
The other option is to do as you do and use the low cost payment method and transfer the money account to account ( Bacs or similar ? ) but this is very quick too so no more cards for me.

Thanks Ken, I’ve never made any payments by card before, and certainly won’t be doing so in the future! 👍
All Utilities in Spain have to accept Wise DD's and if they give trouble report them for IBAN DISCRIMINATION, which is illegal in the EU.
I had trouble but when given this information, they ALL were quick to accept. B****y Spanish bureaucracy.

000 to the missing places, wise told me.
The 20 digit IBAN number is the one from your GBP account. It will start with GB. The IBAN number beginning BE is your euro account and has 18 digits.
