I think you are confusing the weather warning. The weather is classed as a red warning for the next couple of days as it getting into the 40 degree temperature 🥵🥵

According to that article, some countries in Europe have placed some areas of Spain on the red list, but the UK have not, so far.

I would in any case always recommend looking on the respective government websites for latest information - much of what is writtn in the local rags reflects the journalist's interpretation, which is not always correct.

No Spain remains on the UK amber list, from 19 July no quarantine is required for doubly vaccinated.

Germany has put Spain on it´s Red list and France has advised its citizens against travelling to Spain, but the UK currently has Spain on the Amber list.

https://global247news.com/2021/07/10/spain-placed-on-red-travel-lists/

This is what people are talking about that spain will go on the UK red list and people arriving from Spain will need to quarantine in a designated hotel at a cost.

The UK government did cover themselves this time and said that a few of the Amber countries are very close to the mark and may go on the red list at short notice.

This includeds Spain,Portugal and 2 other med countries that has escaped me at the moment but other could follow.

So I wouldn't be surprised if Spain with the rising cases like the UK's rising cases Spain will go on the red list.

Let's hope not🤞🙏

Hi Plaxman40,

Yep, that's what I read a couple of days ago and on which my original post was based.  The UK hasn't done so yet, but if it should change Spain from Amber to Red, let's hope the government will give holidaymakers sufficient notice to return.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi,

read the attached just now regarding potential amber countries being moved onto the red list. Good overview of what the authorities consider before making a decision, plus the timescale for the next review. It was updated yesterday.

https://inews.co.uk/news/red-list-countries-amber-destinations-change-rules-when-next-travel-update-review-1094883

The good news is that with the vaccination rollout progressing well in Spain it reduces the chances of being moved onto the red list, even if infections are rising.

Should be remembered that this is only England, not Scotland, Wales, N. Ireland.

Aitch.
